Stringing 6 x 1 + 8 x 1 (850/1680mm)

Back - 15 ribs Kingwood with triple filets (holly/kingwood/holly)

Soundboard - European Spruce (picea abies)

Neck and pegbox - Veneered in ebony and kingwood

Pegs and bridge - stained cocobolo

Bridge - plum (prunus)

Fingerboard and belly edging - ebony (diospyros )  

The instrument shown here was commissioned in 2007 by Rob Mackilllop on behalf of Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, where Rob is currently Musician in residence.
